During that time, Google has implemented and removed many other functionalities in GMail. Now, these classic Gmail themes are all but lost to history, and that’s a huge shame. I thought this was just cool, so I eventually made one of my own with my favorite dynamic set of images: the Tea House theme from Gmail. I have been requesting/suggesting a sort functionality for GMail ever since GMail dropped the ‘by invitation only’ requirement. Not too long ago, a coworker shared that they had created a WordPress Dynamic Wallpaper for macOS. For some inexplicable reason, Google is obstinately opposed to implementing ‘sort’ into GMail. All Google has to do is to appropriate the technology from almost any other email provider, as they have appropriated many other technologies. ATT Mail and Microsoft Exchange had it 25 years ago. It’s not as if the sort function is hard to develop. Let’s face it, there is no simple way of sorting emails in GMail. The same goes for “sorts” by header, title, domain and any other parameter. I would have to do a search on each sender separately, write down the results for each search and then total them up by hand. If I want to sort ALL my emails to find out how many were sent by each sender, and if I have dozens, if not hundreds, of senders, using the method provided by GMail and described by you would be very tedious, work intensive and time consuming.

I’ll grant you that the SEARCHES are sorted in some kind of order. The closest to a sort is the ‘search by date range’ but it still is a search. Sorry Sayak, but what you describe in the article are SEARCHES, not SORTS.
