It’d be far more reasonable (yet morbid) to deduce that Gusteau would outlive his “little chef.” And losing an essential business partner and a dear friend might very conceivably lead not just to Gusteau’s acute depression, but also, to the poorly-made food served to the untimely food critic, Ego. On the other hand: The average rat lifecycle is somewhere between one and three years. Gusteau may have died from a broken heart, but would a negative restaurant review really cause a life-ending heart failure? Seems dubious. The hair sample being referenced must be Gusteau's.īut how could Gusteau’s hair be polluted with rodent DNA? If not referring to Linguini’s hair then surely this was just a lab error – or a prank played by the lawyer to draw Skinner’s ire. There’s a problem, though: Skinner is never shown collecting a hair sample from Linguini.

The audience thinks the above exchange refers to a DNA sample collected from Linguini’s head – we’ve seen Remy at work under Linguini’s hat and can draw that connection. When Chef Skinner is panicking about the possibility of Linguini being the biological heir to Chef Gusteau’s restaurant, he enlists his lawyer to run a DNA test based on a stray hair found in Gusteau’s old toque blanche hat, and some DNA to be collected from Linguini. Meanwhile, 3D imagery across various screens is sharp, and superfans will appreciate experiencing new material from the Ratatouille world, as Linguini ushers you into a hidey hole or Skinner’s.
